Years ago I was sitting at my computer, slogging through my inbox in my home office, when an email caught my eye: “Graham, can I double your sales?”

Curious? Absolutely.

As a solopreneur, I had built my first business from the ground up, scaling it to multiple six figures within five years. But then, I hit a wall. For the next two years I hovered between $400k and $500k—and then things started to plateau. Unless I launched a product, ran a big affiliate promotion, or held a holiday sale, my revenue was trickling downward. And the worst part? The business that once lit me up was starting to feel like a grind.

I felt this weird combination of exhaustion, disappointment, ambition and guilt. As amazing as making $500k a year was, I wanted to make more. I also wanted to grow my audience and impact more people. But I was tired from 7 years of building my brand from the ground up. I was out of ideas on how to scale, and worst of all - I felt guilty for wanting to grow. As if I should just be “content” with where I was at. That I should just “shut up and be grateful!”

That’s when I hired this marketing strategist who promised to double my sales - the one who had emailed me that day. I was so excited to work with him, to get fresh ideas on my business. To be honest, I expected him to overhaul everything: tear apart my sales pages, whip up a fancy funnel, and unleash some cutting-edge marketing tactics. But that’s not what happened.

Instead, we simplified everything.

We cut the fat and zeroed in on what my ideal customers truly needed. Together, we revisited the core problem they were struggling with—the reason they sought my help in the first place. I started creating content around that (the kind of work I actually enjoyed). Then, we took my best products, re-packaged them into a new offer (what I now call a Magic Offer), and built a single evergreen system to sell it.

We didn’t double the business in that first year. But we grew 60%, going from $500k to $800k. The year after that? We crossed the seven-figure mark, hitting $1.2M.
